Ouzoud waterfalls excursion by Riad Tahani, riad with charm Marrakech

The trip starts at 8.30 am from the Riad, where you will be picked up by a driver. The Ouzoud waterfalls are one of the "wonders of nature" of Morocco. At about 330 feet high, the waterfall is northeast of Marrakech, about 150 km from Marrakech, and you will walk through the olive trees at the foot of the waterfalls to the top where you can watch the waterfalls rise and fall. You can have lunch in one of the cafes that serve delicious dishes while you admire the waterfalls.

The Ouzoud waterfalls are waterfalls located in the central part of Morocco, considered the highest and most beautiful in the country. Located in the small village of Tanaghmeilt, in the Middle Atlas, in the province of Azilal, about 120 km from Beni Melal and 150 km from Marrakesh, they are a major tourist attraction. They rise from the Tissakht wadi and are approximately 110 metres high.

Ouzoud is a Berber word meaning "olive" and refers to the nearby olive trees that shade the path leading to the bottom of the waterfalls. At the top of the waterfalls are a dozen small old mills that are still in use.

Following a narrow path leading to the Beni Melal road as you descend the Wadi el-Abid gorges through a canyon where the lower part is sometimes indistinguishable, with a drop of about 600 metres.

It is the most visited site in the region. In the surrounding area are green valleys, mills, orchards and a magnificent circuit of the aforementioned gorges of the El Abid River (Arabic for "Slave River"). Many local and national associations are leading projects to protect and preserve the site.

On your return, Nasser will be waiting for you with mint tea and Moroccan pastries.
Before dinner, enjoy a stroll in the souks near Djeema el Fna square.

You can then dine on the terrace or in the riad's lounge, enjoying a delicious Moroccan dinner.
